Tramping and Bushwalks
There are many walks available through the Whirinaki Forest Park tracks. For detailed information on these tracks please visit the following Department of Conservation page.
Jailhouse Shuttles are also now on offer for trampers with drop off/pick up options available. Please enquire for more information regarding costs. Excellent free car security is all part of making your stay in the whirinaki forest park more enjoyable.
Trout Fishing
The Whirinaki River forms a natural boundary along the farm, Whataroa Farms, where the Jail House is situated. There is private access to the river to fish for both rainbow and brown trout.
Mountain Biking
There a many mountain biking tracks running through the Whirinaki Forest Park. For detailed information on these trails please visit the following Department of Conservation page.
Hunting

Farm Tours
Available on request - $40 per one hour tour. The property stocks 6000 Breeding ewes and over 1000 cattle, and even a few deer. So plenty to see and learn.
