Whirinaki Forest MTB and Tramping Shuttles
Welcome to Jail House Shuttles. If you’re looking for a fun and friendly experience, we offer a fully licensed quality shuttle service with free vehicle security, for both mountain bikers and trampers, into the beautiful Whirinaki Forest Park.
Mountain Biking (MTB)
- Shuttle service to new 35km Moerangi Track.
- Spacious 11 seater van.
- Professionally built 10 & 12 bike rack trailers system.
- Can accommodate larger numbers on request.
- Minimum of 3 people per shuttle (individuals and groups welcome to make up required numbers).
- Bookings are essential.
- NB: Please note that the majority of shuttle routes are gravel and are potentially damaging to vehicles.

NB:Minimum charges of $120 for a dropoff shuttle and $150 for dropoff/pickup shuttle apply if less than 3ppl on a shuttle. Please note your own vehicle can also be used for groups less than 3ppl if you wish, at a charge of $100 dropoff or $120 dropoff/pickup. Please ask about our Shuttle and Accommodation Packages.
NEW! ROTORUA SHUTTLE OPTIONS
Shuttles are running from Rotorua to the Moerangi trail ( Rotorua return) on Monday's and Wednesday's every week from late January through to the end of May 2012. Although with prior arrangements Fridays are also available to the Moerangi trail.
Shuttles will be running to/from the W2K trail on Tuesdays and Thursdays during those dates also.
We will pick your party up from your Rotorua accommodation with the intention of departing Rotorua at 8am so you will arrive at the Moerangi Trail head to start riding at 10am, then allow between 5 -51/2 hrs to reach the pickup point( ride time is 3 1/2 - 4hrs). Pickup can be arranged with a supplied cell phone 1hr from the end, before the last 9km downhill section, from this point it's 1 1/2 hr return trip to Rotorua in the shuttle van. So a big day but well worth the trip!.
Shuttle prices: ( include a Personal Locator Beacon for the day)
Rotorua - Moerangi ( Whirinaki) return trip $100 per person
Rotorua - W2K ( Taupo) return trip $90 per person
NB:Minimum charges of $400 for Rotorua-Moerangi shuttle return apply if less than 4ppl on a shuttle, please enquire as there may already be others booked in.

Tramping
If you’re looking to tramp in the Whirinaki Forest Park overnight, or longer, we provide a fully licensed quality shuttle service.
Bookings are essential.
